Organized by Rev. F.L. Baker on Sunday, January 21, 1917 Ruth A. Kerns 1916- Ruth was a Junior at the University of Michigan in 1916 in a letter to the church on May 14, 1960, she told Pastor G. Gerald Hartman that she wrote a letter to Brother Frank Baker. She asked him to hold revival meetings in Ann Arbor and hoped he would organize a Free Methodist church. A small group had been holding services in the home of William Schneider praying for a church in Ann Arbor.
